May 2009

Hello Members! Here we are already to the Month of May. Thank you to Doug Schneider for filling in for me while I was on vacation for April meeting. Vacation was wonderful but believe it or not I don’t even feel like I was on vacation. Thank you also to John Fischer for his presentation on the WAA Forms CD. We still have some available for sale please contact Nancy Kuehn. In April we had our first seminar for 2009 on “How to Prepare for Court” special thanks to attorney John D’Angelo with Stellpflug Law. Also thanks to our actors Brenda Klein and Michele Kumbalck. What a great seminar and also thanks to Tom Schingen, Kathy Huens, and Gary Heilmann. We also have to thank Neighborworks for use of the facilities and Marc Perna with Vincent, Urban, Walker and Associates. Thank you to all for making the seminar such a success. What a great learning experience. Those of you who signed up for the Committee Proactive Working with Leaders got involved with Protection and Welfare Committee Meeting and City Council Meeting in regards to City of Green Bay that has produced an new ordinance to charge tenants when they do physical damage to our property. This ordinance has now been approved by City Council. We also are working with the City of Green Bay to cite tenants for sanitation reasons which more detail will be following in regards to this. The other item is a lot of landlords that belong to AANW are small business owners, and they would like the right to do non structural repairs and maintenance to their properties that they own. Nancy Kay Behnke AANW President 2008/ 2009
