October 2009

OCTOBER PRESIDENTS PAGE Fall is in the air. The month of October is so exciting for this is when WAA has the annual conference and our local puts on a Tradeshow. I think this is such a fun evening. It is a chance to meet Associate Members and see the products and services they have to offer. It is also a great evening to bring a landlord friend to check out our association. Hope to see all our members attend. Special thanks to Start Renting for sponsoring part of the evening. Special thanks to Green Bay Press Gazette for sponsoring some advertising for the event. Also special thanks to Kathy Huens, Merrilee Libal, Doug Schneider, and Teresa Van. We just wrapped up another training seminar Law of Landlord Part I & II. Special thanks to Ken Lemerond with Print King and Kathy Kintopf with Start Renting for sponsoring the event. We had a great turnout. Thank you to Tom Schingen, Teresa Van and Kathy Huens for organizing the training. Hope everyone signed up to attend this years WAA Conference “Opportunity Knocks” October 9, 10, 11, 2009. This is being held right in our backyard. If you can’t make the whole weekend plan to attend for one day. WAA has revamped the classes and you must attend to take advantage of this great learning and networking opportunity. This is one of the benefits to being a member of the state. We also have lots of legislative issues and this will bring everyone up to speed and your chance to meet our lobbyist Gary Goyke. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by. November will be here soon and it is time to elect New Board Members for AANW. If you are interested in being nominated please let one of the current Board Members know. Being on the Board gives you first hand opportunity to direct this organization. Being on the Board you help direct what issues we need to be working on locally and they determine future meeting topics. This organization is to serve landlords and associate members who have products and services that landlords need and want and we are always open to ideas and comments on how we can make this organization better. Sign up to be a Board Member today. Hope everyone is finding quality tenants to rent to. Don’t forget to screen! Sincerely, Nancy Behnke AANW President
