Every year on the 20th of January, there is a procession in honor of Saint Sebastian. His statue is carried from Colegio Parvulos to the Cathedral of San Juan where a mass is said in his honor. The procession is composed of men, women and children dressed in costumes of the mid 1800's. After the mass, everyone marches to El Convento de los Domenicos for the Ball. The Music selected for each dance, epitimizes the typical popular music enjoyed in Puerto Rico during the late 1800's. Some of the selections include: the Waltz,Mazurka,Polka,Paso Doble(Spain),Danza(Puerto Rico's Distinct Rythm),Danzon(19th Century Cuba)and Seis Choreao(another rythm unique to Puerto Rico).
