4 on 4 Rules

4 on 4 Rules in a Nutshell

1. Games are played to 28 points or 30 minutes
2. Teams consist of 7 players, 4 on field and 3 subs
3. TD=6 points, extra point=1 point (5 yards out) or 2 points (12 yards out)
4. Running is allowed, except in no-run zones.
5. Quarterbacks cannot run. Only direct handoffs are allowed.
6. All players are eligible to receive passes.
7. Only players starting 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage can rush the passer.
8. Quarterback has 7 seconds to attempt a pass or the play is ruled dead.
9. All drives and changes of possession (except interceptions) start at the 5 yard line. Possessions starting as a result of an interception begin at the point of the interception.
10. Offense has 3 plays to cross the mid-field line or score a touchdown.
11. All offensive penalties - loss of down and yardage.
12. All defensive penalties = first down
13. Any ball that hits the ground will be ruled dead. No fumbles.
14. Ball must be snapped between legs, not off to one side to start play.
15. All players must wear a protective mouthpiece.
16. Cleats are allowed, but must be rubber.
17. Flagrant contact or foul will not be tolerated. Offending player(s) will immediately be ejected from the game and fined $25.00.
18. Only jerseys and shorts with no pockets are permitted. (Numbers on front min. 5 inches, numbers on back min. 10 inches)
19. 10 games minimum.
