Golden Spike Estates is only about 15 minutes away from the Coeur d'Alene National Forest! The National Forest has millions of acres-rivers-streams and thousands of miles of trails and excellent logging roads to enjoy a great afternoon in the outdoors. Four wheel-horse back ride-canoe-hike-fish-hunt- in the Spring-Summer & Fall. Snowmobile in the Winter Wonderland in the mountains of the National Forest!  Clean air-clean water-good friends-lots of elbow room- makes for a great time! Lots of moose, elk, deer, bear, coyote, cougar, turkey, grouse, eagles, owls, hawks, rainbow trout, salmon, kokanee, lake trout, bass, crappie & pike to watch-find-catch and discover!

June 30th Ride: Saw our first Grizzly Bear Behind Hayden Lake at 11:10 AM. WOW-What a Sight! Also-saw 3 Mature Elk Cows - all with little ones! 

     The Riding-Views and FUN is Spectacular!  Another great ride by our group in the Coeur d'Alene National Forest. We reached the snow level at about 6,000 feet elevation. (Early-April) Lots of fun going through a few snow drifts on the trail. Saw 3 elk in an old clear-cut feeding. Lots of elk-moose and deer tracks on the trails. Crossed paths with a small flock of wild turkeys 10 minutes into our ride!  Covered 56 miles on this trip. Had to put on the old-big-fat-vest for alittle extra heat as we decided to go high and hit the high mountain snow levels. Lots of FUN! As a resident of Golden Spike Estates-you can join our gang (no tattoos-nose rings-or gang colors needed for our dirt buster group) and take to the mountains and meet new friends that you have a fun and healthy common interest with-The Great Outdoors!
