Welcome Back

Feature of the Month

On November 30, 2007 we celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Grandpa David Sasportas’s immigration to the United States of America.

Exactly 100 years ago, at the age of 17, Grandpa David Sasportas sailed by himself to the United States. He traveled on the boat "S.S. Hudson", arriving at Ellis Island on November 30th 1907. Amazingly, 62 years later to the day he left this world. And so, this year when we observe Grandpa David’s Yahrzeit (religious remembrance of his passing) we do so with an extra special recognition of his 100th anniversary of coming to America. Click here to view his Biography. Click this link to view the new David Sasportas Photo gallery which includes photo’s of the actual immigration arrival document listing his Port of Arrival information. If you have a special picture of Grandpa David that you would like to share, please send it David Neal Sasportas.

Picture of the Month

On September 6, 2007 Dalia Sasportas, daughter of Joyce & Arnold Sasportas of Kibbutz Ein Gev Israel, granddaughter of Abraham Albert Sasportas and great granddaughter of David Sasportas, was married to Yuval Shor, son of Miri and Zeev Shor of Israel. The wedding took place at KIbbutz Ein Gev in Israel. Please join us in wishing Dalia and Yuval many happy and healthy years together.

Welcome to the Sasportas Family Web site. Feast on the bounty of family news and memories. Visit and share with family members you have not seen in years.

This site has been developed to honor the memory of my beloved mother, Pearl Sasportas. She was known for being the glue that held the family together with her 4th of July parties and other family events. Family was very important to her. With the help of all of you, this site can change the tide and become the new glue that holds us together. My brother Robert Sasportas has done much in the way of investigating family history. We will use this site to preserve that valuable information and capture all that is new in our family. Spread the word about this site to other family members. Your feedback is always welcome.

Click here to send an e-mail to Robert Sasportas or David N. Sasportas. You can also provide your feedback through the Feedback message board.

Thanks for visiting the site today, your host, David N. Sasportas.
