11/9/2011  The new age of the internet makes it an exciting time.  I am able through this website to better communicate to my patients.  My patients are very important to me and to our optometry practice.  They are the greatest and have been supporting my practice since 1984.  My wish for this blog is to inform my patients of new ideas, new techniques, and new breakthroughs in the exciting profession of optometry.  Readers of this blog will benefit from the communication and hopefully enhance their visual welfare.  I want my  patients to enjoy full and complete visual health for their entire lifetime.  Eyesight is precious and I want everyone to have full eyesight throughout their entire lives.

11/18/2011     We have all heard that overweight children frequently become overweight adults, and with that are at a much higher risk for many health issues from heart disease to diabetes to high blood pressure. A recent study though suggests that overweight children who lose weight do not have any higher risk factors than those who were never overweight in the first place. The health issues caused by being overweight also affect eye health. Encourage and model healthy choices. A little more walking, a few more flights of stairs, and remember to add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet everyday.
