I have always been fascinated by the diversity of life forms that surround me, and am delighted when "close encounters" occur! Here, worlds meet for a Cornish Rex an orange dragon fly, wild monkey flowers and an Artist!

Anyone who has been owned by a tortoise-shell cat knows what "tortitude" is! These beautiful girls know what they want, how to get it, and and have their own opinions about everything. They are delightfully demanding Characters (notice the capital "C")! I know that mine chirped perpetually about birds, and had her own appointment book...

The first Devon Rex I ever met was a tortie. This is a tribute to her.

"SHE Who Must Be Obeyed" is an original colored pencil drawing on 100% cotton rag paper (d'Arches). The image measures approximately 8" x 12"; the paper measures 12" x 16". This drawing is currently triple matted and framed.

People often ask me where I come up with my ideas. Well, this one came from all you cat-lovers who wanted me to draw a black Persian cat! The whiskers, ear tufts, and coat came from some lovely Persians who taught me the meaning of "stylin'"!

"It's All About the Hair" is an original colored pencil drawing on 100% cotton rag board. It was completed on May 25, 2009.

The image measures approximately 10" x 10 1/2" - the board measures 14" x 14". It is currently double matted and framed to 16" x 16".

2008 was a year filled with trials and tribulations. But there were also triumphs and moments of shear joy! I was able to capture one of those moments in this portrait of our two girls, "Gracie", the Siamese, and her sister "Kukui", a very shy Snowshoe. (That's a pink scar on her nose; it is shaped somewhat like a Christmas tree.)

This drawing celebrates all the little miracles we experience in our lives every day. It has become one of my personal goals to become more aware of them.

Every couple of years or so, I draw our cats' portraits. This is Java Bean at age 14. He has a a language all his own and communicates his needs and wants expressively, articulately, and forcefully! He typically sits like this, totally relaxed with tongue extended. He grooms both Michael and me incessantly, proving he is "One-of-Us" (his Siamese sister is not, in his opinion).
