Okay, this is personal, so I won't burden you with it by e-mailing it daily, but if you are interested in my progress as I go through the Bally's "Rapid Results Challenge," save my site to your "Favorites" and check back on your own. I'll be posting my progress, so anyone who has advice or encouragement, please feel free to share it with me.
I started on Friday, April 12, 2002 and will end the contest 31 days later on May 13, 2002. I hope to lose at least 15 discernible pounds, to increase my energy, stamina, develop muscle tone and discipline, not to mention, win that $25,000 grand prize!
The above picture was taken about 20 pounds ago. If I reach that weight again, that would be cool. We'll see.
I went to the gym Friday night and my cardio-vascular treadmill workout results were:- Calories burned: 160
- Time: 25:02
- Miles run: 1.68
- Heart Rate reached: 140
- Weight: 160
I am 5'9" and I don't anticipate that changing. I hope!
Ana, a Bally's employee, took my "BEFORE" picture for me. I held the newspaper dated April 12, 2002 in the picture, which is required, so I'm on my way! It's on! At the end of the contest, I will need to answer a two part essay question:
1-What did you do to stay physically motivated for the 31 day challenge?
2-What di you do to stay mentally motivated for the 31 day challenge?
I hope you will help keep me motivated. Please encourage me and check back to see that I continue with as much commitment as I started with. I'll post my results occasionally and at the end I'll send in the BEFORE and AFTER pictures with the answers to the essay questions.
I've had to change my diet as well. I plan to drink only water and maybe an energy drink or two. I hear wine is fattening, so that has to be curtailled as well. Hey! I'm trying to get in shape, not have a baby!!!
Anyway, I know I can do this. I can do this....I can do this....My spiritual coach and Pastor, Bishop Noel Jones, preached from the above scripture today, that reassures me that God will be with me through this challenge (and it's a challenge in more ways than a few). God will strengthen me, "smelt" me and I'll find out what I'm really made of.
Pray for me, my friend, and may God bless you.
Please agree with me in this prayer for Secretary of State, Coilin Powell:
Lord Jesus, please grant Colin Powell travelling grace, wisdom, understanding and patience as he deals with cultures and value systems that are so different from ours. Bless him, Lord, with discernment that will influence wise decisions and requests that will lead to peaceful, but productive dialogue between the U. S., the Israeli and the Palestinian leaders. Lord, I pray that You will be the mediator. That You will stand among these men and use Colin Powell to do Your will. Oh Lord, Your will be done. Save Your people from further death and destruction and give our world leaders the heart to love their neighbor as they do themselves and to forgive others as well as themselves. I submit this prayer In Jesus name. Amen.
....may God bless us all, karla with a k
