Now celebrating its 28th year, WHITE MT. SUMMER DANCE FESTIVAL offers intensive dance training. Under Artistic Director Laura Glenn and Festival Director Paul Dennis, WMSDF continues its unique, innovative and comprehensive training program to growing critical acclaim. The WMSDF program offers intense and invigorating training in the most soothing and healing of environments. With over 12 hours of instruction daily, full-time students participate in 8 daily classes. To support this rigerous enviroment, our faculty is comprised of gifted educators working together in cohesive unity. They are committed to participants finding their maximum potential of dance/movement artistry by combining specialized training techniques, personal attention and hands-on instruction. It is a program that supports breakthroughs in art, life and creativity. Enrollment is limited to 40 resident participants to ensure a five to one student to faculty ratio.
Located on a campus rich in dance history, WMSDF is pleased to join Springfield College's long history of supporting modern dance. In 1933, Ted Shawn joined the faculty insisting that his course be changed from an elective to a required course, and it was here that Shawn began his successful career with Shawn's Men Dancers.
Festival Dates for 2007 are July 15th through August 4th
