One of the best ways to prepare for the New Year is by take cleansing baths. Herbal Baths. The 7 Holy Hyssop Bath is great for cleansing and purging. My most favourite baths are the ones my mother prepares for me when I am at home in Nassau, Bahamas, but I always take along a bottle of the 7 Holy Hyssop Bath home because my mom likes it too. We have a bathing bonanza.
I start the hyssop baths on December 29. There is enough in each bottle for seven baths. This is the way I do it. Instructions are on the box, but I have personalized the ritual to make it more meaningful for me. I also like using candles during the bath. So I load, bless and light a meditation, a cleansing and a peace candle. I also like to use floating candles. Get the plain white ones. I find the floral shaped ones to distracting. You do not want to block your concentration by seeing the shape of the candle. You want nothingness.
Fill the tub with water or while the water is running, pour 5 caps full of the premixed bath into the tub. Wade your hands through the water stirring up the mixture. The smell is very pleasing to the senses. While wading your hands through the water bless the water by saying a prayer. I say the 23 Psalm. It is written on one side of the box the bath comes in. It is a very powerful Psalm. When you’re ready, get in the tub. Submerge yourself in the water and enjoy the feel of the warm water on your body. Close your eyes and relax. Relax. Relax. Clear your mind of all worldly thoughts and stress. Relax.
Then, reach over and get one of the floating candles. Place it in the water and light it. The flames is representative of a cleansing force burning away negativity. Follow the flame with your eyes and release. In the beginning following the flame will feel very intense. Try to relax. Concentrate on the flame as it moves around your body. Even if you sit very still the candle carrying the flame will still move. As you stare into the flame you will block out the world. See the flame burning away the bad.
"
Now remember you need complete privacy and quiet while doing this spell. This means no phone ringing. No kids screaming. You need complete quiet.

" Now remember you need complete privacy and quiet while doing this spell. This means no phone ringing. No kids screaming. You need complete quiet. This one is for you. So stare into the flame. The flame will pull you along with it on a small but very intense journey. Let it.
When you awaken, either put out or set the floating candle on the side of the tub. Next, read the 51 Psalm up to the 9th verse: "
"…cleanse me with hyssop and I shall be clean; wash me and I shall be whiter than snow."

" "…cleanse me with hyssop and I shall be clean; wash me and I shall be whiter than snow." Wash yourself concentrating on your intended desire. Relax back in the tub concentrating on the power of those words and release all negative energy, pent-up anger, jealousy, bad feelings, illnesses, channel forgiveness, etc.
Read the 51 Psalm as often as is necessary to reinforce your intent. Wash again. Use the floating candle again if necessary. Repeat everything several times to your satisfaction. You will know when you are satisfied. Then, because it is still the old year, stand up in the tub and release the water. Let the water run off your body, off your toes and down the drain. When the tub is empty, step out of the tub. You should feel enlightened, and ready for the world.
Repeat this procedure on Dec 30, and 31. Perform the very same procedure on January 1 with one change – on this day step out of the tub then let the water out. This step takes you into the new year. On the 2, 3 and 4 repeat the same as December 29. This block any bad, evil and negativity as you move foward into the new year.
I usually take this bath 4 times a year with small variations depending on the moon phase or other issues of importance.
