We are now a much "Smaller" Dog Rescue. Scroll Down for More Pictures
We have purchased a new vehicle for Kathy, but since you don't see photos like these every day, we will leave them here. It just goes to show you never know what is going to happen in the dog rescue business....
In May 2003, while up in the Sierra foothills to rescue dogs from full shelters, we stopped to admire the scenery. To our astonishment, a 40 foot tall oak tree suddenly fell over and crushed our Rescue Vehicle! While we were grateful no one was hurt, we are disappointed to be stopped in our rescue efforts due to the loss of our vehicle. As you can see from the photos, the car is totalled, and the insurance settlement will be only about 1/2 of the replacement cost of the vehicle. (We could fit 11 crates in this car AND get 35 mpg!)
We are entering the 2 busiest rescue months of the year. Through June & July every California shelter will be full as people end the school year and start vacations or move - leaving pets behind.
If you can possilby donate towards a new rescue van, SUV, or station wagon, please help us. We had intended on saving 40 to 50 dogs during this critical time, as well as driving dogs to other rescue groups when we make the long trek to the Central Valley or Sierra Foothills.
