Food Handler's Cards

Online Oregon Food Handler's Card (OREF)
An online course and test through a non-profit organization called Oregon Restaurant Education Foundation (OREF).  You can take the course online (plan for about 1 hour).  You can also take the exam online but must have a proctor present with you at all times (use a STS Career Center Staff person).  Once you've completed and PASSED the exam, you can purchase your Oregon Food Handler's Certificate for $10 using a credit card on a secured payment page.  (Note:  you must have an email address before doing this.)  Your certificate will be mailed to you within 7-10 days of purchase.

Multnomah County Health Department
Study the Food Handler's manual online and view testing information (times, location, costs, I.D. required, etc.) for Multnomah County.

Chemeketa Community College
Chemeketa Community College offers an online course that can provide anyone with a Food Handler's Card, valid statewide, within three business days!  The cost is the same as Multnomah County ($10).  They want payment by credit card or check.  If paid by check it might take a little longer to get the card.  When they receive payment you can print out your temporary Food Handler's Permit online.  In 2-3 weeks you will receive your permanent card.  If you just want to check out this site, you can register as if you were going to do the course and then just not pay.  They don't process anything that has not been paid in advance.  For questions, you can call 503-399-5146.
