They don't take any incoming calls (please leave a detailed message). Explain on your phone message WHEN they can reach you and at WHAT PHONE NUMBER. They will return your call. You must be available for a call back on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-7 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-5:30 p.m.


MULTNOMAH COUNTY EMERGENCY FOOD & SHELTER LINE

503-525-6400. They answer their phones from 4-9 p.m., Monday through Friday, as well as weekends and holidays.

Ready to Rent Classes
A free housing education class taught to help a person create a housing plan, overcome poor credit, get referrals to landlords, etc.




Central City Concern
Located downdown Portland. Provides a variety of affordable housing options for single adults and families.




Friendly House
Has a Community Service program that assists low income and homeless families and individuals with shelter referral. They maintain ten transitional apartments where homeless families can stay for up to six months as they regain stability.




Goose Hollow Family Shelter
Hosted by the First United Methodist Church.  An emergency family shelter that serves up to 24 people nightly.




Habitat for Humanity
Provide 400 hours of "sweat equity" toward the purchase of a home. Habitat serves very low income families and holds orientation meetings on the first and third Thursdays of each month for prospective homeowners.

Housing Authority of Portland
Housing solutions for individuals and families who cannot find affordable and adequate housing due to income or special needs. HAP also provides rent assistance to households who prefer to find their own apartments and offers program opportunities for housing and services to achieve self-sufficiency.

Metro East Portland Hospitality Network
This is a volunteer agency that provides services to 14 homeless family members living in East Multnomah County.

Located downtown Portland. Addresses the needs of homeless youth and other low income people.




Portland Habilitation Center Housing
PHC has affordable and low income apartment units.  Section 8 vouchers are welcome.  Requirements include rental, credit, and criminal histories.  However, extenuating circumstances and letters of support or recommendations from community agencies will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
