Do you want to be rich, or what?
In 1976, Stephen W. Thomas was working hard as owner and operator of his own advertising agency. The Utah Advertising federation had just awarded Steve the coveted Silver Award of Advertising Excellence (Toyota International had taken the first award!) for his work on a logo, letterhead and signage for a real estate company. It was about this time that a friend of many years told Steve: “If you were working this hard in real estate, you’d be rich!” This friend had already made the switch. Events followed, and within 1 year Steve had become a licensed real estate agent and owned the real estate company for which he had designed the award-winning image and was well on his way to purchasing millions of dollars of real estate.
“Zero-Down Deals” that actually Work!
First, Steve was active as a certified instructor for the State of Utah teaching real estate agents certification for brokers’ licensure; at the same time he was involved as the “transaction engineer” for multiple millions of real estate purchased by his real estate clients with 1031 tax-deferred exchanges and his national student base who purchase their real estate using his “’Zero-Down Deals’ that Work!” techniques. With one of his courses, “Five Steps to $10,000 in the 45 Days”, Steve taught investors how to put cash in their pockets the day they purchase a property, and then how to Quick Sell that property for even higher profits. In fact, early on, Steve was the first trainer to offer phone consultations and coaching … and he did it for FREE, to help his students be successful. Steve’s “I have Guts!” stickers have been great motivators. Steve's other themes were "Zero-Down," "Zero-per-month," and "Zero-Tax."
Nationally Acclaimed Real Estate Trainings
By the middle 80’s Steve had authored more than 16 cassette tapes and had written more than 5 workbooks, and was acclaimed as one of the top 10 real estate trainers in America. Having assisted Mark O. Haroldsen, author of How to Wake Up the Financial Genius Inside You, in pioneering the two-seminars-per-day “product loop.” Steve was a frequent writer for Mark’s “Financial Freedom Report” (“FFR”), the largest real estate magazine in the US, and was one of Mark’s first speakers at the national real estate convention series sponsored by the FFR. Over nearly a decade, Steve taught literally hundreds of thousands of real estate students. On just one occasion speaking to over 10,000 attendees as one of 8 speakers at the Los Angeles Convention Center during “Real Estate Week;” on equal billing with Dave Del Datto, Mike and Irene Milen, Joe Land, Hal Morris, Tony Hoffman and others who were team presenters for the “Real Estate Superstars.”
Pioneering Infomercials and the Internet
Steve was the featured guest for the first series of real estate infomercials ever (and guest host for 11of them). By the late 80’s Steve left the national circuit endeavoring to build an infrastructure that would facilitate a higher percentage of his students becoming outrageously successful. As one of those efforts, again ahead of his time, Steve was one of two co-founders who pioneered with Wade B. Cook, author of How to Build a Real Estate Money Machine and later How to Build a Wall Street Money Machine, a national database of foreclosure properties available “on line” – and this was before the words “on line” and “internet” were even coined. He produced and or wrote several infomercials at this time, including “How to Make $10,000 a day,” a program that taught how to make a business out of HUD MMI refunds, and “The Juice King” (not the famous “Juice Man”) to teach people about healthy eating.
The Secret to Success and Fulfillment
By the 90’s, Steve began to focus on the question “Why aren’t people as successful as they say they want to be?” In this quest, he completed education to certify as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and developed “Opportunities Workshops” to teach an exclusive system he developed to teach people how to terminate self-defeating behaviors that most people don’t even see in themselves. Steve now calls the system “IAMetricsä” (pronounced “I-am-metrics”); attendees learn how the measure consciousness, success, and personal fulfillment.
Where the Beginnings Began
Raised in California, he attended Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah, for the better part of 6 years. With 5 minors (and “almost” 5 majors), Steve left school to make his career in broadcasting and advertising. Being a musician and songwriter had earned him enough money to pay his way into a marriage. Steve still boasts his 5 children and, at present, 8 grandchildren as the greatest achievements and greatest blessings in all his life’s experience.
