I’m a teacher. And, six months after earning the “1977 Silver Award of Advertising Excellence” for a real estate company image campaign, I purchased the real estate company and began training real estate agents on how to represent their listed properties. By 1979 I contracted with Mark O. Haroldsen, author of How to Wake Up the Financial Genius Inside of You – still a good read. Together with 3 other team members, we pioneered selling books and tapes in a bag with Mark’s slogan: “Financial Freedom – It’s in the bag!”
Within the first year, we developed our marketing and our pitches and established the profitability of these “product loop” seminars. Mark then asked each of us 3 pioneers to train 10 replacements each. My trainees consistently maintained closing ratios higher than the other groups. Visit with me and I’ll tell you why.
From 1979 to the middle of the 1980s, I personally planned the seminars, taught real estate, and sold real estate products in hundreds of cities, to tens of thousands of attendees – and purchasers!
From his first “real estate convention” to sell books and tapes, I was one of Mark’s featured speakers. Over a decade, his real estate conventions were several times per year in all parts of the USA. To promote these events, I was featured in several of Mark’s infomercials, writing some powerful punch lines – these were some of the first infomercials in America.
As the real estate “product loops” became more and more popular and competitive, I joined with 7 other of the top speakers in America to form our own company the “Real Estate Superstars.™” To culminate this experience, I spoke to 10,000 eager attendees as one of the top 4 speakers in the USA at the Los Angeles Convention Center, during LA’s “Real Estate Week” in December of 1984. “Real Estate Week” was a promotional idea we negotiated with the City of Los Angeles as part of our rental agreement for the LA Convention Center! This was quite a promotional coup.
Then, in 1988 I consulted with Stevens & James Marketing, coaches and mentor for Jay Abraham, known as the “grandfather” of the direct response marketing/advertising. While I was developing marketing and coaching products, my duties included coaching and working with Steve (and Jim), the owners of this company, with their “FREE introductory seminar.” This is how these FREE seminars increased their profitability, increasing gross sales from around $30,000 per month into nearly $100,000 per month in less than 12 months. In addition, while Steve and Jim were key-note speakers at a national marketing convention selling $45,000 in marketing and coaching products, I got the idea at the event to conduct “educational selling seminars” in a suite in a near by hotel! With an increased budget of $150 per day for three days, these “guerilla” seminars doubled the company’s gross sales for the event.
Most recently, I created proformas, and PowerPoint presentations for SDI / Ron LeGrand. I did the first "sell the product and treat them to a live seminar weekend" for that group. In weekly sales seminars in the top 40 markets in the USA, I am assisting in the the design and directing the fulfillment of an internet product that integrates the internet, real estate and wall street into a powerful home business opportunity. In addition, the Barry Spilchuk, co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul¸ organization has invited me to consult his American marketing team in the development of his one-of-a-kind personal coaching programs in his Let’s Talk…™ series, Let’s Talk about Relationships™ and Let’s Talk about Money™. These programs will be sold in educational sales events in homes and hotels across America and Canada.
