Here are a couple of very good questions:
- Why do I do What I do?
- Why don't I do what I know I "should" do?
- What is my purpose in Life?
Here are my answers, first to the questions:
Why do I do What I do? And Why don't I do what I know I "should" do?
Do "feelings" motivate you? How often do you find yourself doing something because, you say to yourself, "I feel like doing this right now"? On the otherhand, how often have you found yourself NOT doing something that is important to you, and you say to yourself, "I just don't feel like it."
Does what you "think" about something motivate you? How often do you find yourself doing something because, you can say to yourself, "I think this is the right thing to do"? On the otherhand, how often have you found yourself NOT doing something that is important to you, and you've said to yourself, "I just don't think this is the right thing to do."
Do your habits motivate you? How often do you find yourself doing something because it is easy to do, or without thinking or feeling about it? On the other hand, have you ever found yourself avoiding doing something because "it's not like me to do that."
What is the best motivation for doing what you doing? Here is the answer: I do what I do because: 1) I find an activity that is good for all, and 2) I do it because "I say I'll do it." When I find what is good for all concerned and decide to do it, these are called my "ground rules." It comes down to this basic axiom:
I do what I do, because I said I will do it!
