IAMetrics™
I have a dear friend who says my answer is "too complicated." She's probably right. However, I think life IS more complicated -- in a very simple way. I see life as having more than one dimension. And all these dimensions work together so that the cheese can be moved to more than "one level."
IAMetrics™ has five dimensions -- at least. But let’s start with five. Are you ready?
One level is My Thoughts. Another level is My Feelings and yet another level is My Physical Body. Have you noticed differences in how you experience and your thoughts differently from your emotions or feelings? And how differently one can experience ones physical body! Sometimes apparently operating without thoughts or feelings (like when running in a race or loosing my car keys!), but most certainly my thoughts and feelings are present at the time – I’m just not thinking of them. There two more levels of Being or States of Being as well.
To describe the next level of Being, I use this phrase: My Initial State of Awareness, (Think of how you are in the morning as you awake, or at night just before you fall asleep. If this is illusive to you, take a close look at a new born child. Not having yet master Thoughts and Feelings and Physical Doings, a baby seems to be a perfect example of this part of me I call My Initial State of Awareness or My Aware Mind. I have more simple names to describe this part of me. On a daily basis, I refer to this part of me as My Knowing or even more commonly as My Observer. Does this make some sense to you? Let me add one more thing about this “level” of Being: this part of me is really my foundation. My Initial State of Awareness, My Observer is where I began my life as an infant, it is where I begin my life as I awake each day and it is how I end my conscious life each day just before falling asleep. (In fact, I anticipate that this is where I will go when I die. But that is another discussion for another time – and really has no bearing on the practicality of my approach to living!)
To describe the “final” level of Being in IAMetrics™, I use this phrase: My Word. This level of Being may be a bit more difficult to see as a “level of Being.” However, the day that I found that I could use My Word and “declare my truth” and create “ground rules” that affected my behavior and the behavior of others, that was the day that I began to see My Word as a powerful level of being
In simple and most real terms each of these levels are simply different "vibrations" or different forms of "energy" – just like light. There are all sorts of light out there: ultraviolet, infrared, visible light, etc. And just like most people are only aware of “visible light,” most people are only concerned with one kind of physical reality. Some see this reality as “Mind” or “Thinking.” Some see this reality as “Emotions” or “Feelings” and some see only a “physical reality.” These might say, “If you can’t touch it (and/or taste it, etc. -- for examples), it ain’t real!” And some purport that life is “Spirit.” I tried this once, living as though life was ONLY “spiritual,” and I found myself bumping into chairs and walls and things. So even when I maintained that life was all Spirit (and I still do!), I had to acknowledge – from my own experience! – that there were some physical realities that must be dealt with to stay alive. In fact, I notices several “levels” of reality. Thus was born IAMetrics™.
Let me describe the levels or dimensions of life which I have been experiencing, and let’s see if you have noticed pretty similar phenomena. I see these as levels or attributes of Being that are so helpful in creating balance and value and power in my life. Here is a summary them from the “foundation on up.”
My Observer
(My Knowing or My Knowings),
or My Aware Mind (or My Spirit of Truth)
My Thinkings
(My Thoughts),
or My Thinking Mind or “Mental Body” (or my “Light of Truth)
My Feelings
(in terms of My Emoting or Emotional Energy),
or My Emotional Mind or My “Astral Body” (or the “spirit of man”). This is the part of me that is the “ghost” part of me, that people might see in a movie if I were dead and still on the planet.
My Doings
(My Physical Body),
or Central Nervous System Responses usually manifested as “behaviors”
or My Physical Mind (YES! Science now understands that the “mind” [the ganglions and nerves of my brain] are THROUGHOUT my body. So why not experience your physical body is equally situated “throughout the brain”? The brain and the body are one; the mind and the body are one. This is true in that my actions can effect the way I think as much as the way I think can effect my actions. Don’t debate this with me, test the idea and see how true it is for you. If it is not true for you, think of your “Doings,” your physical body as separate from your mind for now.)
My Word (My Sayings),
or what I say to others and myself about my experience. We could spend much time on this concept but let these words suffice for now: When I “keep my word” (when I “do what I say”), I like myself and trust myself; not only that I like and trust others, and I like and trust the Universe (or God, the way I understand God). When I don’t “keep my word” (when I “do NOT what I say”), I DON’T like myself nor do I trust myself; not only that, I DON’T like and trust others, and I DON’T like and trust the Universe (or God, the way I understand God). IAMetrics™ in a Nutshell: STRESS
I want to get this way simple right now. So here is IAMetrics™ in its simplest forms:
(1) To whatever degree my Thoughts (or Thinkings) are NOT “in alignment with” my Feelings (or Emotions), I will experience a degree of stress in my life. The more out of alignment, the more stress. On the other hand, the more IN alignment these attributes are, the more PERSONAL FULFILLMENT I experience in my life. And there is more truth to IAMetrics™…
(2) To whatever degree my Thoughts (or Thinkings) are NOT “in alignment with” my Doings (or my behaviors), I will experience a degree of stress in my life. The more out of alignment, the more stress. On the other hand, the more IN alignment these attributes are, the more PERSONAL FULFILLMENT I experience in my life.
(3) To whatever degree my Thoughts (or Thinkings) are NOT “in alignment with” my Observations about what is true in life (My Aware Mind), I will experience a degree of stress in my life. The more out of alignment, the more stress. On the other hand, the more IN alignment these attributes are, the more PERSONAL FULFILLMENT I experience in my life. And there is yet more.
(4) To whatever degree my Thoughts (or Thinkings) are NOT “in alignment with” what I am saying is true about life (My Word, or My Sayings), I will experience a degree of stress in my life. The more out of alignment, the more stress.
IAMetrics™ in a Quantum Context:
“Quantum STRESS?” Then, Quantum Fulfillment, too!
Now here is where I am accused of being “complicated”:
Just as my experience of my thoughts being in or out of alignment with all the other parts of me adds to my sense of stress or sense of personal fulfillment, I am also simultaneously experiencing each of the other parts of me in or out of alignment with each of the other parts of me. This could take a while to “grok” however, click here to see the relationships of all these parts expressed in a recipe.
And for those of you who have studied quantum strings, each level is not “on top of” or “next to” an other level; all the levels are within the other. But rather than proving my friend right, and that IAMetrics™ is complicated, let’s don’t go there is this discussion. Why? Because to understand how to use IAMetrics™ to create value and balance in your life, you just don’t have to go there. Just like to understand how to boil water, you don’t have to understand quantum strings.
IAMetrics™ in Summary:
The reader could say that everything I have written is from My Thinking Mind, and that reader would be correct -- though not complete. Because while I have "thoughts" and "am thinking" about what I'm writing, I am also "feelings" about what I'm writing, I am "aware" (and observing) what I am writing. And actually by going through the behavior of writing this (by “doing” something) about my thoughts, most scientists would agree that I have done an exercised that has “hard wired” my thoughts into my cellular memory. And, I am sure that my awareness, my feelings have been effected. What more? My doings (my writing this down) has even effected my thoughts that originally thought these thought – having written these words, I think differently about the thoughts I originally had. This all proves to me (and hopefully you at least see my point), that my awareness, my thoughts, my emotions, and my doings and my sayings each are their own realities, and each effect the other in stressful or fulfilling ways!
While I have a entire set of works shops that assist myself and attendees in having our own unique (and necessarily nonconforming) experiences, for now it may be best just to ponder the quotations above and is the IAMetrics™ versions of the statements above. Notice what you know about each of them; notice how you think, and how you feel about them. And notice how your actions and behaviors change, if at all, having just read them and having noticed whatever differences you may or may not have noticed. And, then, take the next step and notice if you talk about life differently – if your “sayings” or your “ground rules” about life have changed.
