Master Terry Brule is the head instructor of the Napa Taekwondo Academy. He began his study of the martial arts in 1990 under Phillip Fontaine and Grandmaster Lee Soo-Woong (the founder of Taekwondo in Napa). In June of 2003, Mr. Brule tested for 4th degree Black belt under Master Robert Zambetti, Professor (retired), California State University, Hayward. Master Brule participated in the Kukkiwon Poomsae Seminar and Special Dan Test for 5th Degree Black belt in February of 2009.
Master Brule began his teaching career in 1993 with a program at Westwood Elementary School (now NVLA). A second Martial arts program was started at Salvador Elementary, along with the addition of classes for Teens and Adults. In 2005, the Napa Taekwondo Academy was officially opened as a commercial school.


Master Brule holds Kukkiwon Rank and Master Instructor Licensing with the World Taekwondo Headquarters located in Seoul, Korea. He holds official Rereree certification in Olympic Taekwondo ccompetition, as well as Level-1 coach certification through U.S.A. Taekwondo (USAT), the sole representative to the International Olympic Committee. Master Brule also holds certification as a CDT (Non-Deadly Force) Tactical Master Instructor in Family Protection, and previously served as the Northern California Vice President for the United Taekwondo Fellowship organization.
Mr. Brule is a 1980 graduate of the Napa Valley Unified school system where he spent his youth, and holds a diploma from the Phoenix Institute of Technology.
