Creating Optimal Fitness & Helping Others

The BodyMind Academy's Fitness & Nutrition Consultant Program is the only program available in Washington that fully integrates fitness and nutrition information, assessment and suggestions. It examines where you want to go in your relationship with your body, mind, emotions & spirit and how you choose to get there. It teaches you how to take steps toward your fitness & nutrition goals in a structured series of ten BodyMind Fitness & Nutrition Consulting (BMFNC) sessions.

Students in the BodyMind Fitness and Nutrition Consultant Program learn to balance diet (intake) and activity (output) to achieve optimal health. This innovative program features the latest fitness and nutrition information, presented by healthcare professionals. It provides participants with the knowledge, confidence and abilities to guide individuals to a lifestyle filled with energy, strength and vitality.

The BodyMind Fitness & Nutrition Consultant Program helps you reach beyond fads to sustainable lifestyle change. Once you have felt these changes in your body and your mind, you are in a position to begin helping others find their optimal fitness lifestyle.

Finding What Works For You

Optimal fitness results when you find a balanced mix of food & activity choices that gives you your preferred energy level and body image. BodyMind Fitness & Nutrition Consulting recognizes the fact that each person is neurologically and biochemically different. This means that each individual has a group of foods, food supplements, exercises and health practices that will optimize their quest for health and fitness. The BodyMind Fitness & Nutrition Program provides individual answers to your questions about what's right for you.

Finding Your Way Through the Maze

You may be able to relate to those who have lost their way in the maze of conflicting dietary and exercise recommendations. Some have given up hope with disastrous consequences to their health and longevity. Traditionally, Fitness and Nutrition have been separated as different fields. They have had different educational and scientific bases as well as different practitioners dispensing differing sets of recommendations. This has been confusing because there is very little integration available. In order to arrive at healthy lifestyle choices and ways to accomplish them, each person has been expected to read extensively in both fields and integrate a vast array of information. The BodyMind Fitness & Nutrition Consultant (BMFNC) is trained to remedy this situation.

Remember the controversy about butter vs margarine? Are you still confused? This program teaches you which is a better choice. It explains both the science behind effective nutritional suggestions and how to communicate those suggestions in understandable, doable steps to those who need them. The BodyMind Fitness & Nutrition Program is unique in that it teaches you not only what to suggest to people who come to you for help, but how to assist them to actually make changes in the very personal lifestyle areas of activity and food choices.

The Case Study Program

The BMFNC Case Study Program gives you the chance to practice your skills while you are still in school. A case study is five sessions with the same person. Your first case study sessions are with those in your class. If you prefer, you may choose the BMFNC's personal healing track. In this track, your case studies are accomplished only with your classmates. Those who choose the program's professional track will do case studies with persons outside the class. With the completion of each case study session, your confidence and skills increase. Certification as a BodyMind Fitness & Nutrition Consultant (BMFNC) requires completion of the professional track.

The BMFNC Ten Session Series

The Academy's Fitness & Nutrition Program teaches you how to conduct a structured series of ten BMFNC sessions that integrate fitness & nutrition information, assessment tools and suggestions. You learn how to conduct this ten session series in your work with your in class and outside of class case studies.

During Term 1 of the program, the Personal Healing Term, you learn how to conduct the first five sessions of the series. During Term 2 of the program, the Transformation Term, you learn how to conduct the second five sessions of the series. During Term 3 of the Program, The Professional Term, you learn how to combine all you've learned in Terms 1 & 2 in your work with your outside of class case studies.

Your Professional Practice as a BMFNC

The last term of the BodyMind Fitness & Nutrition Consultant Program teaches you how to attain optimal fitness and help others do the same. Presenting your Practice Vision Report at the end of Term 2 sets the stage for embodying the professionalism of your Specialty Area Report in Term 3. Your marketing classes build your skills in the important area of communicating what you have to offer to the marketplace. Upon graduation, you will have the skills and preparation necessary to begin a successful professional practice as a BMFNC.
