My Answers Search Results

Following is a screen capture of search results. The second result answers our question, so to read the result, we just click on it.

Notice that there are ten listings and then buttons at the bottom indicating page 1 and page 2. This means there is a second page of results.

If there were no search results that matched or none of the listed results were what you were looking for, you can click on "Ask Us" to send your question to the DWP support team.

Included below the screen capture is a more extensive explanation of how the percentages are determined that appear next to each search results.

MATCHING PERCENTAGE

The Match column shown in the search results represents the degree to which a given set of words correlate to a particular knowledge item. Here's how it works:

If a keyword appears in the title of a knowledge item, it is assigned 5 points for each occurrence. If the keyword appears in the description or solution text, it is assigned 1 point for each occurrence. That total is then divided by 5 times the number of keywords entered and converted into a percentage. Any percentage above 100% is rounded down to 100%. For example, if you search on "install problems" and "install" appears in the title and "problems" appears twice in the description, then the match percentage would be ((5 + 1 + 1)/(5 * 2)) * 100 = 70% match.
