1965 Nova, one on the right. Building a sleeper 4 door, 350/TH350.

Current status of this Nova is: Interior is completely removed, dash and floor pans sanded down.I have most new/replacement parts for the interior, many of which are rare and hard to find not reproduced. Motor/transmission is removed and engine bay is blasted sanded and painted. I have all new/replacement engine bay parts as well as all new wiring harnesses from bumper to bumper from classic industries. Car was original 283/powerglide, now is 350/350. I have a lot of extra and duplicate parts for it as well.

Make Room Camaros! You guys have a new stable mate! I'll call it a Rescue Vehicle since it was headed to the scrap yard. I was at one of my
favorite auctions, and they had this little burned Nova. I had no intention of bidding on it. High bid was going to a local scrap yard.  Having looked the car over, I knew it was relatively straight, and rust free, nice floor pans, nice quarters, and lots of factory chrome that would clean up nicely. Had some nice Magnum 500s and BFGs. I just had to step up and bid. And I got it.

Factory wise, Original, it was a 283 cid v8 with a 2 speed powerglide coded as a 11669 which means a Chevy II 400 Nova V8. Today though it has another sbc 350, 010 block with great 487X heads with a turbo 350 tranny. Trim tag is coded with 05B build date, 768 -Fawn Interior, C-C -Ermine White Exterior, M -M35 Powerglide Transmission, P -U63 Push Button Radio, C -Padded Dash, W -Pass Side Exterior Mirror, L -Seat Belts.

Car was purchased previously from Coyote Classics located in Greene, Indiana in May of 2005 and shipped to Virginia Beach. In approximately late July-Early August of 2007, it had a top engine carb fire from what appears to be a fuel line break from a broken fan belt that spread from the top of the motor through the firewall into the dash. Dash took the worst of it. A shame for this classic little car. I now have just about everything for it and it is currently undergoing paint resto. The following are some interesting links about the car, when it was bought and some surprises that came with the car.

I had quite an experience buying the car because of what came in the car. A bunch of military related books and things and "A Box". A box headed to Kuwait with 'Patriot Secondary Item' worth in excess of 22 grand in it. About a thirty thousand dollar value total. Here's what is neat about this item in the box. It was just an electric motor, probably for a patriot missile BUT It was considered Sensitive Government Equipment and controlled by International Arms Treatys and protected by USC 22, 2778. Sale or transfer requires a license by the Dept. of State or else an individual is subject to prosecution for Treason, Espionage, or the like. I won't tell you the rest of the story, no need for you to know.

From USC 22

(c) Criminal violations; punishment

Any person who willfully violates any provision of this section or section 2779 of this title, or any rule or regulation issued under either section, or who willfully, in a registration or license application or required report, makes any untrue statement of a material fact or omits to state a material fact required to be stated therein or necessary to make the statements therein not misleading, shall upon conviction be fined for each violation not more than $1,000,000 or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.

So it's easy to see that this was not my cup of tea so therefore I had to call some more attorneys and then call the crooks with whom I was employed with for 24 years. Everything worked out in the end, I guess, and All Is Good. Except that it is disappointing that such a well respected government contractor such as Raytheon didn't step up to the plate and offer some sort of reward for turning the item in. Oh well, such is life, when evil bastards control this world.

Now this YouTube video, put out in December is funny as hell about it. Not only am I in the video 5 times so is the Nova. The Nova is actually sold at the 3:22 time mark. And pay special attention to the closing statements at the 4:20 time mark where the camera is focused on the Nova and the narrator states "might take home a hidden treasure in the process".  Too funny, whereby facts are stranger than fiction.
